NEC Corporation has announced that it will be collaborating with Siemens to provide artificial intelligence (AI) monitoring and analysis.

In a press release, NEC said that the collaboration will provide a solution for manufacturing that connects MindSphere, the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens, and NEC’s System Invariant Analysis Technology (SIAT). According to the agreement that was signed by the two companies, NEC will be joining the MindSphere Partner Program, which can provide NEC with access to specialised technical training and support from Siemens as well as a number of joint go-to-market capabilities.

Last April, Siemens announced the availability of Mendix, its low-code enterprise app development platform, on its MindSphere system. The move focused on offering essential support that is needed to easily test, develop and deliver MindSphere applications.

Tony Hemmelgarn, the president and CEO at Siemens Digital Industries Software said: “With technology from Mendix, we can empower customers, regardless of technology background, to use low-code development to transform the way they approach and solve business problems. Adding the ability to create native MindSphere applications using the Mendix no-code/low-code approach can provide capabilities that are unmatched by any other industrial IoT provider.”

Earlier this month, Microsoft has announced that it is partnering with Cisco in order to integrate Azure cloud with Cisco’s IoT platform to build the Cisco Edge to Microsoft Azure IoT Hub, a solution that will enable seamless connectivity and streamlined edge data flow into Azure IoT. As per a Microsoft blog post by Tony Shakib, IoT business acceleration leader at Microsoft Azure, the integration “provides the necessary software, hardware, and cloud services that businesses need to rapidly launch IoT initiatives and quickly realise business value.”
